nce upon a time, there was a scary witch by the name of Helga. She lived in the woods and came out on the night of Halloween to scare kids and to steal their Halloween treats. All the kids in the neighborhood were scared of her. What they didn't know was that Helga was scared of pumpkins.

On the morning of Halloween, Joseph said, "I'm not going to be afraid of the witch anymore!" He decided to create a spell to make the witch go away. The main ingredient in his spell was pumpkin.
To make the spell Joseph used these ingredients:

-
1 1/4 cups flour
-
2 tablespoons sugar
-
2 teaspoons baking powder
-
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1 egg
-
6 tablespoons pumpkin puree
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted
-
1 cup milk
-
Toppings: Chocolate chips / sprinkles / syrup / honey
-
Joseph first mixed the flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a bowl. As he stirred the ingredients, he exclaimed "Flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, make this spell magic!"
-
Then, in a separate bowl, he added one egg and pumpkin purée.
-
"Eggidy, pumpkidy doo, I put a spell on you!"
-
Joseph, then, melted and poured butter into the mix to make the spell even more powerful. Next, he added the milk, mixing all the ingredients together. The smell of the ingredients was making him hungry.
-
He, then, poured the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients.
-
And he used a witches' broom to brush some butter on top of the pan. This was his favorite part of the spell but he had to hurry up. It was almost Halloween and the witch was on her way.
-
He, then, used a magic spoon to scoop the pancake mix onto the pan, trying his best to make it look as round as the moon.
-
Once the pancakes cooked, the final step was to top each pancake with chocolate (chips) "witch hats."
That night was Halloween. The scary witch came out of the woods to scare children and to steal their treats. Joseph put on his Halloween custom and hid the pancakes inside his treat bag. Sure enough, the witch snatched the bag from his hand and flew away on her broom. All the children followed her and watched her eat Joseph's pancakes. "I love these treats," she said and reached for more. But before she could eat the last one, "poof!" Joseph's magic spell turned her into a pumpkin. The kids were excited to have another pumpkin to carve into a jack-o'-lantern.
